New Classes! Brush Lettering and Modern Calligraphy
It's been a while, but we're excited to finally be launching two new calligraphy classes that we hope to have as part of our ongoing line-up: Introduction to Brush Lettering, taught by Christopher Rouleau, and Introduction to Modern Calligraphy, taught by Sarah Kim.

Scriptus came and went in a blur, and we're still standing to tell the tale! The pen show Sunday one of my favourite days of the year, but also one of the craziest days of the year for our shop and team and family.

The Saturday Pen Addict & Well-Appointed Desk Meet-Up Review
What a crazy weekend! On Saturday, from 1-5 pm, we had Brad and Myke from the Pen Addict and Ana from the Well-Appointed Desk at the shop. The next day, Sunday, was Scriptus, the Toronto Pen Show. I thought maybe I could fit the whole weekend into one post, but after looking through all the photos, I've decided to break it into two.*
Wonder Plans for Scriptus, the Toronto Pen Show
It's coming down to the wire! Here are a few of our big plans. We've got Brad, Myke and Ana coming to the main shop on Saturday, October, 27th, from 1-5 pm and we're pretty excited for an afternoon of pen talk and and tasty treats!
Pen Addict + Well-Appointed Desk at the Shop: Saturday, October 27th, 1-5 pm
Scriptus, the Toronto Pen Show, is upon us! It's taking place on Sunday, October 28th, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Toronto Reference Library right at Yonge and Bloor. It has free admission, and no doubt is going to be a fabulous day. But, possibly even more exciting, is that we're going to have some special guests at the shop the Saturday before the show.

Things we've learned since setting up shop here: 1. Chicken is still the most popular member of our team. 2. Raccoons, while slow moving, are terrifying and fearless creatures.
The Cabbagetown Festival
The Cabbagetown Arts and Crafts Festival was this past weekend, and had a table! The Cabbagetown Business Improvement Association (BIA) is quite well established and organized, and set us up with a table, even though our shop only opened up four days before the festival.*

Happy Labour Day! It's been a hectic few weeks as we've finally passed our last inspection, and we reached the part where Jon and I and our team and the two babies get dusty and paint covered and march onward down the final stretch to opening our doors - tomorrow!
