While theMidori MD 2021 plannersdon’t have quite the splash that Hobonichi has, some of you have been using these planners for a while and have been waiting for these ones to come in. The MD notebooks are popular because of their high quality paper, but also the really simple binding and design.
We recently got in some stationery-adjacent things, which are sometimes my favourite things to get in. We (I) spend a lot of time overanalyzing the specifics of which ink with which pen, or how I’m going to use which notebook for what, but sometimes it’s nice to have something entirely new to contemplate.
The latest seasonal release from Field Notes is the United States of Letterpress, and it’s one of my favourites, right up there with another past letterpress Two Rivers. I also did of course really like the National Parks editions. So it’s a tight race.
A new colour from J. Herbin! J. Herbin Vert Atlantide. Joining the sparkly line of Jacques Herbin, this is a green green, with both silver and green shimmer.
The colour is, of course, inspired by the dream realms of Atlantis, with both gold and silver shimmer as part of its magic and mystic. Whether or not Atlantis is a personal and meaningful connection for you, the actual ink itself is quite lovely.
It’s a different sort of release than Hobonichi (second shipment coming soon!), which was exciting and thrilling and exhilarating and full of indecision. Stamps! Notepads! Covers! I liked so many of the covers, but realistically have far fewer notebooks needed in my life to be housed in them.
The purple and yellow-starred Volume XIX is The Voting Pencil, the latest Volume to be released. With the US election coming up, it’s a tribute to the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, guaranteeing American women the right to vote. In these times, voting is becoming increasingly important, and the fight for voting rights and education continues at home and around the world.
Sailor released eight new Manyo inks to join the line. It is always a fun day when new inks come in, particularly from Sailor. They have so many colours! It’s hard to choose favourites, but I suppose that’s never stopped anyone from trying.
The new Sailor Pirate’s Life 1911L and 1911S are here! I am so here for this edition. I’ve noncommittally declared myself a gold-trim-only person in life, and this one is perfect. This is another North American special edition, so we’ll have them while we have them. What a beauty! This colour is fall and golden and warm and everything I need right now.
We’ve just received a restock from Hong Kong’s Back to Zero Brass Stamps. These are some of our favourite designs, some modern, some traditional. They’re a lovely touch on letters, and I especially like them on thicker stationery, like G. Lalo.
The Hobonichi planners have arrived and in one big maelstrom they are swooping out the door. It’s wild. A lot of covers and accessories sold out quite quickly, and we know some of you have missed out. We are expecting our second order to arrive early October, and we are planning carefully to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to get what they want. For some of the items, this was the first year Hobonichi released them to retailers, so we are still adjusting accordingly. I strongly advise you sign up for the email in-stock notification for any specific items you’d like, which is underneath the add to cart and add to wish list buttons.
