New Year's Giveaway 2014
With the new year come new year's resolutions. It's a fresh start! A field of untouched snow! A new teacher in September! A gym membership! All good things yet untarnished by life.
Only the truly resolute are able to break through on their own - for the rest of us, we're offering some handy organization tools as our first giveaway of 2014. We hope these will help you meet all your goals, or at least help you organize a bit.
1. Kaweco Al-Sport Fountain Pen with Pen Clip in nib size of your choice. 2. Milltown Pen Case in Mustard. 3. O-Check Hardcover Journal 4. Life Japanese Stationery B6 Grid Vermilion Notebook. 5. Quo Vadis Minister Agenda. (Total retail value: $164.50)
To enter, leave a comment below naming one of your new year's resolutions. Bonus points (and maybe a bonus surprise!) for imagination or outrageousness. This contest is only for people who are cheerfully suffering through Canadian winters, or at least pretending to (you must be a resident of Canada). We will only ship within Canada. The contest closes midnight EST January 7th, 2014. Winner will be announced on the 8th, and will have until January 14th, 2014 to contact us with pertinent shipping information. Otherwise, we'll just keep all these goodies for ourselves, or maybe try giving them away again.

Aside from the usual resolutions (which always include learning how to cook, rededicating myself to the gym, being more organized and continuing to fill up all of my awesome notebooks with witty words in lovely shades of ink), one of my resolutions is to re-discover my city through fresh eyes and experiences. Instead of spending my money going somewhere far-flung and exotic, I’m going to vacation-at-home, pretend to be a tourist, and see how a visitor would perceive this amazing city. There might even be a blog in it for a few lucky readers. ;) Happy New Year, everyone, and may the resolve stay strong!

I resolve to get back to using to do lists. I imagine it looking something like this:
To Do List
1. Make a To Do List
2. Check off first thing on To Do list.
3. Realize you already have accomplished two things on your To Do list.
4. Reward yourself with a nap.

My New Years resolution is to stop eating baked goods!Goodbye pie, muffins, cookies, brownies, and cake; all my closest friends :(. I can’t get rid of bread altogether. So, baked goods is a good start. I’m also on a quest this year to find the perfect red and blue FP inks, not an easy task!

My New Year’s resolutions are to do one good thing everyday and to find some perspective. And, of course, to catch up on my written correspondence. Happy 2014 everyone.

My new years resolution is start using fountain pens. I don’t like ballpoints as they require pressure. I learnt how to write with a fountain pen and continued until I was 11. It will be good to get back to my roots and move forward with a part of my history.

My New Year’s resolution is to master calligraphy so I can write my Mamère and my Auntie handwritten notes. I wish to stay in touch with them more so I don’t lose another family member without staying in touch and showing them that I love them.

Twenty Thirteen had only been preparation for the uncertainties tomorrow. Therefore, my resolution is simple – that is, to live, not exist.

I rarely make New Year’s resolutions, because I’m not good at change. I have good intentions, but I have trouble following through. Instead of a life-changing resolution, this year I’m trying something completely different, and rather silly. I read an article on New Year’s Eve about “felfies,” farmers taking selfies with livestock, and it seemed like a cute idea. I’m a teacher, and a part-time farmer, but my husband farms full-time (and then some!), so he’s promised to help me with my resolution to tweet daily felfies … we’ll see how long this lasts …

My New Year’s resolution is to either: find a job and start working towards a career, or go back to school and continue my education. I’ve let a year go by idly, accomplishing nothing. Time to get back on track.
Happy New Year and all the best and warmest!

My new years resolution is to become a better student and complete the winter semester without dropping any of the courses (I’ve done this two times last year and I am dreadfully ashamed of myself). Hopefully I can be more organized this year.
:D Happy New Years! And may good things come to you guys in 2014!

I’m a loner and tend to be in my head too much, so this year I want to work on being more social. I want to meet new people with similar interests so I will be looking for fellow readers, movie-lovers, fountain pen geeks to hang out with. Of course, the usual resolutions to save more, eat better, lose weight, and exercise also apply.
By the way, my birthday is on the 9th so this would be a pretty sweet birthday gift.
Happy New Year!

My resolution this year is to try to stop complaining about everything. :)
It’s part of my job to criticize, however, when I come home, I have a hard time trying to stop criticize everything,

Perhaps not so much a resolution as a goal, but this year I am hoping to be accepted to the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences in your very own city of Toronto! Among many other smaller resolutions, that one is the big one. Should it succeed, you may notice a new out-of-town face dropping by later this year to stock up on Noodler’s 54th ink and few sturdy notebooks, all destined for laboratory notes…

Resist to temptations…use moderation in everything I do.
1-don’t go to the Soccer world cup…just watch the games.
2-don’t eat all the chocolate, just one piece a day.
3-don’t spend the whole free day on my hobbies…just 2 hours is enough.
4-don’t by more fine nib pens…try other sizes, practice calligraphy.
5-stop the resolutions at number 5…more than that becomes hard to stick to :)

My resolution is to spend less on pen, ink and paper…Nah! Who am I kidding? My resolution is to set up and organize a cupboard or permanent space to house and store even more pens, inks and paper. Now, that’s more like it!

As I mentioned on my blog today, my New Year’s Resolution is to “meet a Russian oligarch, get engaged with a twenty-carat diamond and platinum ring, get married in some crazy Russian church, walk around Moscow in a chinchilla coat all day, move into a house with a giant banya, spend the rest of my days in only-slightly-corrupt luxury.”

My New Year’s resolution is to develop a secret writing script that only I can understand. My ‘skill’ at writing messy, near-unreadable cursive has already served me well, but I’m hoping on degradi – er, improving my writing even more so that I can communicate in secret. Hopefully my print will still be legible though ;)

First……I’m not going to settle for good enough or mediocre in everything I do, from my vocation, to my relationships. I owe everyone my very best. Second…I need to journal more, especially with my new fountain pens. Third…gotta look after me. Diet, exercise, rest, de-stress, the indulgences I take pleasure in. Happy New Year everyone.

With the imminent changes to the postal services that we’ve come to value and, perhaps take for granted, one of my New Year’s resolutions will be to increase the number of letters that I send by mail each month.
I will reach out to family & friends with my thoughts and feelings penned in cursive writing on classic stationery.
Thus, doing my part to keep both our letter mail services and the traditional cursive style of penmanship alive and well.
Happy 2014 !!!
