Giveaway! Bleu Ocean, Stormy Grey & Rouge Hematite
I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weather! The long winter seems like a distant dream/nightmare and I hope you're wandering around outside in shorts and a t-shirt, and maybe getting some ice cream. In our new neighbourhood, Leslieville, there's an ice-cream shop on Queen that always seems packed with people, and even a few dogs waiting longingly outside, but we haven't tried it yet. One day, soon enough! Jon and I are really enjoying the new space and also the new neighbourhood! I think we're both a little sad to think about all the old regulars who lived around the corner from 906 Dundas West, and who came by to pick up an ink or a notebook but who would stay for forty-five minutes to shoot the breeze, but it's also been a lot of fun to meet some East enders. A few people from our building, which is mostly commercial units, have stopped by to introduce themselves, and we've had a chance to meet some people who just live in the area. In fact, our building faces a large residential building, and we've had a few neighbours who have just seen us out their window, and who have come by to say hello! Being a fountain pen shop and hanging out with people who use fountain pens all day, it's been interesting to tell people-not-yet-initiated-into-this-wonderful-world that we sell inks and fountain pens and stationery. You'll be pleased to know the response has been really great! Maybe because there are a lot of graphic designers and creative people around here, but instead of the "People are still using those old-fangled gadgets?" I sometimes expect, we're getting a lot of "Wow, that's super interesting! I'm so glad to see that there's still so much interest in writing and these kind of tools!" Before we moved, Jon and I discussed a few promotions and giveaways to help celebrate and publicize our move. Well, things kind of got away from us (no kidding), but we're still celebrating! We're giving away a bottle of the newly released Bleu Ocean, as well as a bottle of Stormy Grey and Rouge Hematite.
These gorgeous inks all have sheen and sparkle, and are perfect for letters, greeting cards or anywhere you need a little bit of excitement in your life. 1. Leave a comment on this blog post. Say hello, which of these three inks is your favourite, how you're enjoying the warm weather, or whatever you like! 2. Shipping within Canada only. 3. Comments welcomed before Friday, June 5th, 2015 at 11:59 pm EST. Winner, selected randomly, will be announced on Saturday, June 6th. The winner will have three days, until Tuesday, June 9th at 11:59 pm EST to contact us. Have a great weekend :)

I’m not sure which I would like the best since I have not had the opportunity to use it.
However, my pen pal has used both Stormy Grey and Rouge Hematite and if I had to choose it would be Stormy Grey. I love how they all look though.
Hopefully I can stop by the new store and pick up samples soon.

Bonjour from Montreal! I’m so happy to have found your online store and hope to one day get to visit you in person! The Stormy Grey must look lovely, but the Bleu Ocean has me sooo intrigued. All that glitter!

I am looking forward to seeing the new store. I think that the blue would be an interesting ink to try. I have the first formulation and it is a great ink.

Congratulations on the move and best of luck settling in. I’d be excited to use any of those three inks; they all look gorgeous.

Hello! Glad to hear you are settling in. Love the stormy grey, but the blue also looks spectacular. I’m not in Toronto that often, but your new shop is definitely on my list of places to visit. Happy weekend!

Congratulation on the successful move! Stormy grey is definitely my favourite! I am enjoying this wonderful Toronto weather by rollerblading around home as using it as a mode of transportation downtown. Thanks guys for offering this giveaway, have a great day! :)

Hi there Jon and Liz! I have only tried the Bleu Ocean but I can say that is is my go-to ink for fancy letters. I have an (unopened) bottle of Stormy Grey but have been thinking that I would have to get a copy of additional flex pens to really enjoy the 1670 inks. I’ve tried the Bleu Ocean in a Noodler’s Ahab and a Lamy Vista Medium. The Ahab is lovely. The Lamy does not let the gold flakes through, so have stopped that! I mean, what is the point of that???
I would LOVE to try out all three!

Bleu Ocean looks really nice! Looking forward to visiting the new place this summer!

Didn’t have a chance to go to the old place but hopefully I will this one. I do order online quite often. I did try stormy Grey but blue with sparkle would be a great addition to my addiction.

I’ve used the older blue formulations, and love rouge hematite! Never tried stormy grey though.

Visited the former location once, and look forward to visiting at the new place! Bleu Ocean sounds tranquil.
Cyn said:
Stormy Grey is my favourite on account of it being the only one of the three I’ve used!
Joy said:
Ooooooh, sparkles. I would love the blue. Can’t wait to see the new space!

Hello from Halifax! I’ve yet to try any of these inks, but had my eye on rouge hematite and stormy grey for a while! I can’t wait to visit Toronto this summer so I can finally get to your shop.

Glad to hear the move went well, I hope everyone gets a chance to visit the ice cream shop or maybe someone will deliver some for you guys and gals. I have yet to try these inks but I am torn between the storm grey and the ocean blue the both look amazing.

I’d really enjoy a bottle of Rouge Hermatite. It looks wonderfully rich. I have the blue and gray and really enjoy them. It is starting to get very humid here in NC.

Hi there, thanks for keeping the fountain pen tradition alive ;)

I’ve never actually tried J. Herbin inks but they sound interesting and worth a go. Maybe if I win I can use them with the reams of Tomoe River paper I plan to buy off you (whenever you get the chance to package them…or I guess I could buy a whole ream at once). :-)
Glad the move went okay and hopefully I’ll be able to drop by more often now that you’re in the east end.

I definitely want to give Bleu Ocean a try.

While I would love any of the three colours, your review of the blue has certainly sold me on it! Congrats on the new location and I have to say your service never lagged during your move as I received my pens and inks on schedule! I’ll be placing my next order soon:))

Hi Liz! I couldn’t say which of the three inks I like best…they all look like great colours. Lots to see and do in your new neighbourhood. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
Robert said:
I haven’t had a chance to drop by the new shop yet, but hopefully I’ll have time soon! I think I’d like Stormy Grey the best, as it’s the most muted of the three, but the Bleu looks beautiful too…and so does the Rouge!

I’ve used an old formulation of Rouge Hematite, but I love the looks of the new Bleu Ocean!
Helen said:
Hello! I got the Rouge Hematite and it was the ink I used for all my tea party invitations since last winter. That said, I wouldn’t mind trying some Bleu Ocean. I think it’ll inspire some cooling thoughts for the hot summer. The ink looks magical and I’m sure it is. =D

I would love to see the new store! I’ve been keeping up with the updates, and it looks fantastic. (I’d love to try the Stormy Grey ink too…I’ve never seen anything like that before, and I can imagine that it would inspire great things! The colour is beautiful…I’ve got a sketchbook that’s absolutely begging to make magic with it…)

My feelings towards Stormy Grey are tenderly disposed, but each surely is as lovely as the next! And I pray that all of your week-ends are lovelier still. :)

Glad to hear that your move went well.
Although it will be a longer drove for me (I live in t West End), I will of course keep visiting you shop, to pick up some of the excellent selection of pens, inks and accessories.
I have only tried Rogue Hematite, but am very eager to try the Stormy Grey as well! :)
Annie Lam said:
I remember the last time I went into your shop that the Rouge Hematite caught my eye and noticed that there was a lone bottle of Stormy Grey. However, Jon did tell me that Bleu Ocean was an option too and I was smitten. I am glad you guys managed to get some in!
Owen said:
Out of the three, I would go with the Stormy Grey. I think it’s going to work great with my blue pumpkin nib.

Didn’t realize you moved. Congrats! Hope you’re settling in nicely.

I love the new space! I was so surprised by the size of the shop, as it was humongous. I liked the chalkboard wall very much, it was so big and beautiful.
I would pick Rouge Hermatite, for somehow I never got my hands on any red inks!

I look forward to stopping by your new shop.
I am enjoying my blue Kaweco pen that I got for my Bday. Would love to fill it with Bleu Ocean.

Hello there; I am would love to try out any one of these inks and I have never tried any of them before. I am an ink newby and don’t have experience with everyday inks, let alone these sparkly wonders.
I am enjoying this weather and working lots, sometimes seven days and week at two jobs. I am waiting for August to roll around when I will be taking a month off of for rest and exploration.
Thank you for doing this.

Love the stormy grey. Only have a sample so far so am using sparingly! :)

I usually write with grey ink (Private Reserve Grey Flannel) so I’d go with grey. Hang on! I like blue and have 18 different blues, so maybe the blue? Decisions! Decisions! Ok grey it is. No! Blue. Ok, I’ll stick with blue. Final decision, Regis.
PS welcome to the neighbourhood. I recall visiting the old shop and suggesting you open your second franchise here. I’m delighted to see you are here – I’ve already been twice. Oh yes, and Ed’s Real Scoop’s blood orange sorbet is the best ice cream on the planet.

Would love to try the Bleu Océan! or really, any of them =) Hope to drop by the new store some time soon!

I love the Bleu Ocean! I like to use my pen for everyday university/office uses so blue tends to work best, with grey as a close second. I’m happy that we finally have nice weather — I think we’ve earned it! Can’t wait to make trips out to the parks and beaches as the days roll by.

So glad the new neighbourhood is making you feel at home! I mean to come by soon when my own packing gets under control. (If you have any boxes you need to get rid of, i can take them off your hands!) I have been coveting that Bleu Ocean since you posted those gorgeous pics on the blog.
