After a recent shipment of Wearingeul inks, from South Korea, I couldn’t resist inking a few of them up. Peter Pan! Yes, please. It has been some time since I last read Peter Pan to Caleb and Naomi, and in fact so long I doubt Naomi has much recollection of the story, so maybe it’s time to break it out again. Maybe! Given the state of the world, perhaps we all could use a good fairy tale in which Robin Williams can be our hero.

In any case, here are a few inks. It’s actually been some time since I first inked them up, with the intention of getting around to this blog post, and I’m pleased to say I’ve enjoyed them all since then. A particular surprise for me is the Captain Hook, as I’m not normally a red person. I had to, for the sake of the literary theme, but it turned out to be an enjoyable writing experience. Is it the ink, the soft nib on the Pilot Custom (ah, my favourite), the autumn season we’re in? No matter.

As always, these five inks are available in a Currently Inked Sample Pack, while supplies last.

20000 Leagues Under the Sea

Tick Tock Croc

Captain Hook

Tinker Bell

Peter Pan

Not part of the Peter Pan universe, but I already had this one inked up so it ended up first on the list. 20000 Leagues Under the Sea is an ocean blue with a sparkle.

Tick Tock Croc is a teal green. It’s a lovely ink! And also I put it in one of my all time favourite pens, the Pelikan M600 in the classic green stripes. It’s an excellent match, and I’ve already written it dry.

A Christmas red named after a one-handed villain.

This is perhaps the perfect ink for Tinkerbell. An ethereal green with some shimmer.. Dragonfly wings and magic dust.

Peter Pan, a lovely forest green.

I always love a good excuse to ink up some more pens. I generally have too many pens inked up, and every once in a while I need to scrounge them all up together and rinse them all out—which doesn’t happen as often as it should.

And so a slate of freshly inked pens is a little treat for myself, and I find myself, late at night, testing out each one, doing a little scribble, before deciding on the one for the task at hand, a page of journalling or tomorrow’s to-do list.
