New in From The Superior Labor

It’s always lovely and overwhelming and leathery when shipments from Superior Labor come in. I don’t know in the history of all of our shipments from Superior Labor if all the boxes have ever come on the same day due to the waywardness of Canada Post and customs, but I guess that’s part of the fun.

Pre-orders have already mostly shipped out, or will over the next couple of days. I know some of you have been waiting for a while for specific pieces to come in. The wait makes it sweeter! Portfolios, pen rolls, special orders.

In any case, I thought I would share a few pictures of some of the things we got in that are now up on the website. We had to retake some photos due to small changes for some items (the new tag on the leather pouches, for example), but we also got some new things in. Despite the heat wave here in Toronto, back to school is around the corner, and it’s my favourite time of year to reorganize and re-evaluate my tools and supplies. Beautiful leather cases always get me in the end.

The leather from Superior Labor is always such high quality. One of the things I like the most about it is that their leather has some variations, each piece is slightly different. It’s always jarring to get that first scratch or spot on it when it’s your fault, but Superior Labor pieces often come with the natural variations of the material, and I think it just adds to the character. Over time, all of those scratches slowly start to fade away and grow into a warm, golden patina.

New in are these leather notebook covers in natural, brown and black. Extremely simple with just a plain stamp in the front, very comfortably fits any true-to-size A5, including the Hobonichi Cousin. A piece that will definitely warm up over time. Available in a few different colours.

We also got in some more of the hard Zip Leather Boxes that sold out so quickly the first time around that we didn’t even get them online.

And the brass paper clip! This heavy clip is good for keeping papers together, or holding open your Traveler’s notebook. I love the subtle detail.

In any case, I hope you enjoy browsing through the new things. We are slowly adding as we go, and of course we’re still doing special orders. We order in cycles, typically getting in a shipment every 3-4 months. A lot of things are made to order, so timing is also sometimes a factor.
