October Newsletter Blog
Dear Pen Friends, It's been a long time since you've heard from us! Much has happened since then, and the warm weather is now starting to cool down. Our baby boy, Caleb, arrived in early September, and we had the shop closed for a week. Jon spent some time with a few pots of coffee trying to catch up with all of our online orders, but things are in good shape now! Lots of new products have been arriving and we are anticipating even more over the next few months, up to the holidays. Some of the highlights include: We have been receiving some new products from Kaweco, including the Student and the Special. We have currently have the Black Skyline, and are hoping to receive the Mint and Grey in the next few weeks. We are expanding our Faber-Castell line to include the Stainless Steel model of the Ambition Fountain Pen, and in the Lamy line, we are now carrying the Lamy Logo. Brand new to us are the beautiful Iroshizuku inks! We are not carrying the full line right now, but will take special orders. Please remember that sometimes Pilot items, including the Iroshizuku inks, can have a longer wait time of up to 1-2 months! Please keep us in mind with the cool weather and winter approaching. We are unable to order ink into the shop as the freezing weather hits, and so our remaining stock will be all we have. If you'd like to special order an ink or you would like a specific ink in particular, you may want to act on it soon to avoid disappointment. We are working hard to make sure we can keep a good supply through the holiday season and winter months, and are keeping our fingers crossed that we don't have quite the same, long winter as last year. We will continue to ship out most inks with a small amount siphoned out into a vial to avoid freezing and broken glass, as well as sending online orders with ink to the post office for pick-up. Lastly, the Toronto Pen Show, Scriptus, is fast approaching on Sunday, November 2nd! Unfortunately, we will not be exhibiting, although our bricks and mortar shop will be open regular hours (12-5), however we will be attending to say hello and...maybe see some new pens for ourselves! We are offering an Edison Collier in Antique Marble as well as a bottle of Sailor's new Four Seasons Oku-Yama ink as a raffle prize, and we're hoping that along with free admission and all of the other wonderful vendors, you'll have no reason not to come and say hello! If you can't make the pen show, you can always find us on FacebookTwitterInstagram, our blog or of course, come and chat in our shop. All the best, Jon & Liz
