New Chalkboard by Sarah Kim
In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours, in all the world, there is no love for you like mine. - Maya Angelou
It's been a long time since we had a new chalkboard on our walls, and we were so thrilled to have Sarah Kim come by, Sarah who's been with us for a while, and who actually did our first chalkboard at our old Carlaw location. Sarah also teaches our Modern Calligraphy classes.
It's always great to have Sarah in, and to have beautiful words up on the walls again. Starting to feel like home.

In any case, I'm about done with winter around here. Today feels like spring out there, and I'm holding out hope that it's going to stay that way for good.
I think the winter is one of my favourite times at the cottage, with snowshoeing and fires in the wood-stove, but winter in the city is significantly less appealing. Driving is terrible, classes get canceled, everyone takes ten times as long to get out the door with lost mittens, I feel like I'm taking my life into my hands every time I walk on the sidewalk to drop off or pick up Caleb from school, our back gate is jammed with the ice and snow.
Cottage or city, though, the kids are both really into snow and tobogganing (what a crazy word) and tramping around in marshmallow snow suits. Everyone keeps telling me to embrace the cold, the winter, the fun, and let me tell you I'm trying, but am I ever ready for spring to come around again.

What a dream that would be! We made it out to BC for a few days a couple of years ago, and it was beautiful. Maybe one day!

Liz, I think you should consider moving out here to the West Coast where we’re only inconvenienced by true winter for a couple of weeks (and then it’s just rain). Then you can open up a West Coast Wonderpens so I can drool over all your merchandise in person! And get to meet Chicken!
