One of the best inexpensive factory italics

The 1.0mm stub is very unique among factory italics in that it is much sharper than, say, the TWSBI Eco 1.1mm, almost like a true cursive italic. It is very useable and characterful for everyday writing. Not too wet but a very smooth nib. Ink capacity is not great compared to a piston-filler like the ECO, so you'll need to refill often, and cannot be converted to eyedropper because of the metal body.

Beautiful fountain pen, very comfortable and flows well!

I recommend this fountain pen as it is beautiful, very comfortable and flows well! Be careful, even medium nibs seem like fine because it is a Japanese brand. Also, beware of using too much shimmering inks with it as it clogs. Wash it thoroughly from time to time. Otherwise, I highly recommend!

Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop - Orange Fine nib

Smooth writing, durable thus far, hefty enough in the hand to feel solid but light enough not to make your hand cramp after a long writing session. Beautiful design and color that makes the pen stand out but isn't so overwhelmingly bright that it's blinding. Great for anyone looking for something other than black but not super bright. Performed well on various papers including regular notebook paper when paired with the Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai ink and writes smoothly just about on every paper I've tried. I would recommend the fine tip for anyone who has small cramped handwriting like I do because it's more legible with this nib in my experience. This is a great workhorse pen for daily use.
