The Mitsubishi 9000 Pencil still has my favourite markings on any pencil "Made by Elaborate Process", and it feels like that statement is true. The lacquer is thick and smooth, and the whole pencil feels like it is one solid stick. Great point retention and easy to sharpen with a long point sharpener even if the wood is a bit denser (Solid!)
However, when comparing to the HB, I liked how the HB moves on paper with little resistance. The B grade of this pencil feels as stiff as the HB but with more resistance on cheaper or softer paper (muji and moleskine). Almost like the paper has become slightly humid, and you have to push the pencil a bit more than the HB. With stiffer paper like Fabriano or Leuchtturm you can feel the B is a bit softer. It's still a great pencil, but I actually love the HB version of this pencil. (I would try both to see which you prefer)
