Life Stationery "Noble Note" Lined Notebook - A5

This is a lovely little notebook but I find the paper to be inconsistent. It's very smooth and pleasant to write on but on some pages there is noticeable feathering. I like to write with a fairly wet pen but have not has this issue with Clairefontaine or Rhodia. If you write with a fine or drier nib you would likely be fine.

This notebook has some of the highest quality, fountain pen friendly paper I've encountered. I use pen that lays down a great deal of ink, and this paper deals with it wonderfully. No feathering, no bleed-through, and good dryinh time; although I also use a sheet of blotting paper to make sure everything is good.

One of LIFE's finest, with 8mm lined cream laid paper, this notebook oozes quality. That said, this feels more like a journeyman's (or woman's) notebook to me - one interesting touch which may put some purists off is the small blue stubs found between the 1-2, and 3-4 signatures (you can see this in the 2nd image). These too serve a purpose - being extensions of the blue cardstock covers, LIFE has solved the problem many notebooks have where the first and last pages are glued to the front and back covers.

If you're looking for a great quality toss-in-the-bag-and-go notebook with excellent fountain pen friendly laid paper which produces wonderful feedback without being toothy, this one might be just the ticket.
