Leuchtturm Hardcover A5 Notebook - Anthracite (Dot)

Title really says it all. The staff at WonderPens were kind enough to substitute this in when they didn't have the Rhodia notebook I wanted. They were prompt, responsive, and flexible with the curbside pickup, but ... yeah. Over the past few years I've gone from Moleskine to Leuchtturm to Rhodia, simply for the quality of the paper. Leuchtturm is nice and the design shows some thoughtful details -- the detachable sheets, the table of contents, the numbered pages -- but the paper is where a notebook stands or falls. Rhodia paper is so smooth, my fountain pen glides across it like a figure skater at the Olympics. Leuchtturm's paper is, for lack of a better word, grabby. Writing on it feels like scratching. Otherwise a fine product. Three and a half stars.
