For the past 15 years, Sailor has been actively holding Ink Studio in-shop ink blending events all throughout Japan. These sought after events have always been a success with Japanese consumers lining up to have custom ink colors blended by their famed Sailor ink blender Osamu Ishimaru.
Over the years, more than 20,000 unique colours have been imagined and blended, and now for the first time, 100 inks have been chosen and made available to the public from these exclusive blends. Representing the complex nature of colour and ink blending, these inks range from light pastel tones in the 100 and 200 series to more saturated tones in the upper series. In the Ink Studio line, blues are no longer just blue, there can be split-chromatic qualities, beautiful shading, and subtle undertones that peak out just so—a treasure waiting to be discovered within each ink.
