We have lots of planner things in! As we wade through a thousand decisions and indecisions, I thought I would share a few more details over a new format of planner that Midori started putting out a couple of years ago: the Midori Hibino.

The Hibino is a higher-end, Japanese planner, with gorgeous paper—great for fountain pens.

Its format has two pages per day, facing each other, those who want a compact planner but need a bit more space than just the usual, standard one page a day.

And it feels great in the hand, weighty and hefty and thick and full of promise.

If you used it last year, I’d love to hear how it went for you.

As the weather turns slowly, and as the years pass, I’m realizing that there is never a routine to fall into, with things changing every year, every week. Some years it’s big, as the kids start preschool or school or something totally new, but otherwise, every season brings with it birthdays and pen shows and life and new music teachers and cancelled plans and tweaks to the schedule and one cat or another needs something (expensive). New things to stress and worry over. You can’t keep up! Don’t even try!

And more and more, even as things change and shift, I return to my favourite pens and paper (even as those change!). A few moments here and there, and knowing how fast things move, babies turning into tyrants and gremlins and humans, I will take the solace and chaos together.
