We launched a new pen with Fine Writing International, who we had the pleasure of visiting when we were in Taiwan. What fun! Soon I will share a little bit about visiting their showroom and warehouse.

In the meantime, here is the pen: the Pencket in October and also in November, ho ho. The name of the pen is October, which is mainly because it’s such a fall and warm and pumpkin and autumn leaf kind of pen. The pen show, when we launched it, also took place in October, and that was a nice little coincidence as well.

I love a good pocket pen, and this one is such a sweet and perfect companion in a timeless finish. It’s a little vintage with the gold trim, and even the size is reminiscent of older pens—and it’s just right for a little pocket or sleeve.

Below I also have some writing samples in the medium nib, with Octopus Inks Unicorn, a rich blue with excellent sheen.

In any case, we’ve got a new pen in the shop, and these special ones with special meaning are always my favourite. Life is life, which is to say it’s hard and messy and goes by too fast and goes by too slow, but also it’s full of surprises. And I never would’ve thought we’d be here, with a little October orange pen to scribble away with in our journals, at the end of fall in Toronto.
