Another set of currently inked pens, with five new inks, also available in the shop as a set of samples, for a limited time (i.e. until they run out). I am hoping to do these sample sets more regularly (monthly?) but only time will tell if I’m able to keep it up. I already missed February, so I’m not optimistic, but never say never.

Five new inks as we march into spring! The palette, I suppose, reflects a bit of the grimness of trying to drag ourselves through these final chilly days, but we’ve had a few glimpses of warm and sunny afternoons, and so I’m ready for winter to be over with my pens inked up.

Some of these inks were a first-time for me, which is part of the fun. I find I gravitate towards my tried and true colours endlessly, sometimes because it’s what I have on hand, and sometimes between I can just refill a pen, without having to clean it out thoroughly.

And it was my first timing inking up this sheening blue: Jacques Herbin Bleu de minuit. A rich ink for late night thoughts.

Lamy Amazonite is a popular turquoise, also with some sheen. From Lamy’s Crystal line, from which their Topaz is a personal favourite of mine.

Ah, and this gorgeous, subtle ink from Sailor, Kyokuya, which is from their Yurameku line.

And Ferris Wheel Press’s new Aurorealis, with shimmer.

Another new one, this one from Dominant Industry, Harbor of Dieppe, from their Painter Series. This ink is on the lighter side, also with shimmer.

In any case, I hope you and your pens are doing well, running smoothly, flowing as needed.

It’s the end of March Break, which I say with both a tiny tear, and also plans to dig out the last of the bagels I’ve hidden in the back of the freezer. It was a wonderful week, full of adventures, including one to the AGO for the Keith Haring exhibit, and it was neat to see his notebooks and journals as well. A good reminder that, as much as I love my fountain pens and colourful inks, sometimes it’s just the act of writing that’s important—even if you absolutely must use a ballpoint.
