I’m squeezing in another currently inked set just before the end of April! I can hardly believe I’ve made it. This set will be available for a limited time as a sample pack, while quantities last.

Another lovely set of inks, with a hint of spring and freshness, along with a little depth for office place notes and addressing envelopes.

Diamine Inkvent Yuletide, with a lovely red sheen.

I always forget how much I love the look of Pilot nibs.

Sailor Souboku is a pigmented ink, a blue black with so much character and shading. Perhaps a little more character/shading because it’s in a Sailor medium that is a bit more on the precise side. As a pigmented ink, Souboku is also permanent and waterproof. A classic workhorse for good reason.

Another Sailor—gorgeous and rich. Sailor Kokoro Guma is from Sailor’s new Yurameku line, which are some of my favourites. The ink’s colour and shade shifts on various papers and in different lights and I love that each one is a bit of a mystery.

A spring green! Green Panda from Octopus Inks.

A super interesting modern iron gall ink: Platinum Cassis Black. The name is not a misnomer, the ink starts out berry red, and then darkens over time into a deeper, shadowy red as the ink oxidizes. This ink is from a series of modern iron gall inks from Platinum. For all of the inks, the difference between how the ink starts out and how it dries—over the first 30 seconds, 10 minutes, and first few days—is a lot of fun to watch.

While I admittedly do have a few pens left over from previous months and just variously inked up for fun or show or testing, I very much enjoy having five pens and five inks to choose from and to write with over the course of a month(+). Jon and the team often choose the colours and it’s a relief and also a bit exciting to have the decision out of my hands, to ink up what is being served up, and to see what I think.

The other day I poured a bag of peanuts into a Tupperware and it was simply perfect. I will end here.
