Wonder Pens Exclusive Edison Beaumont: Golden Skies

We are so tremendously excited to introduce our very first exclusive pen from Edison Pen Company, Golden Skies, a Beaumont.

The Beaumont is probably my favourite model, and this one has a black cap and blind cap, and a blue and gold striated barrel. Gold trim and nib, and! It’s a numbered edition of 50.

Each barrel will have its own unique stripes, along with being individually numbered out of 50. It takes and comes with a standard international converter.

Brian Gray from Edison Pens was amazing to work with, as usual. He gave us lots of flexibility and feedback and ideas, was extremely patient when I took a long time to make decisions or answer emails, and offered us so much support in giving us options, outlining details and timelines, and working with our tiny shop and its limited resources. He and his team did a fantastic job on this pen, and I’m so thrilled with how it turned out.

I must say that these times have taught us very much who we are as a business, and the other kinds of businesses and relationships we’ve come to value. I think in part it’s because I’ve become a bit emotionally unbalanced, but also because this pandemic has also forced upon us a lot of clarity on what’s important.

Over seven years of business, we have been lucky enough to get to know and work with friendly folks at large, global companies, and yet it is a completely different things to do business and develop a relationship with another small or family business. Brian from Edison is just overall an incredibly decent and thoughtful guy to do business with, and I’m so thankful that we connected what seems like many, many years ago, back when we were at 906 Dundas West. He and his team worked hard to get these pens to us, and when things began shutting down in Ohio, he really went the extra mile for us. In these times when we’re scrambling for everything we can get, we are especially grateful for Brian’s efforts and these pens.

And one last thought: the Golden Skies name may seem like a misnomer since the pen is mostly black and shades of blue, with only some thin stripes of gold, but the name is meant to represent this pen, these insane times, and what’s to come. We actually started discussions and work around this pen sometime last fall, and it’s only just come to us now, but its timing is something to think about.

In these days where things seem wild and uncertain and terrible, the best is yet to come, and there are golden skies ahead. Perhaps this pen will be your remembrance of this time.
