Field Notes: Shenandoah + Workshop Companion Seasonal Editions, and Expedition
Our Field Notes shipment came in, all full of goodies! We now have the latest fall seasonal edition, the Shenandoah. This edition is comprised of three green covered notebooks, inspired by trees found in the Shenandoah National Park: the Sweet Birch, the Chestnut Oak, and the Red Maple.
Each cover is specially duplexed, meaning the cover is made from two different papers fused together by force, so the outside and inside are different colours. On the back of each notebook is an illustrated leaf from the tree that specific notebook was inspired by. All three notebooks have a graph ruling. We also got some stock of the summer seasonal edition, the Workshop Companion, set of 6, housed in a hard case. Each notebook is based on a DIY discipline - Woodworking, Electrical, Plumbing, Automotive, Gardening and Painting. This is a great set for planning renovations or new projects, but the covers themselves are also a great, slightly vintage look, like they could really be a manual from the 1960s.
Both the Shenandoah and the Workshop Companion editions are seasonal, meaning that they're only produced in limited quantities, and once they're gone, they're gone. And, also, we've now got the Expedition set of memo books. These have a "hi-visibility “Antarctic Survey Orange” front cover and “Polar Night Black” back cover" with a glazed topographical map of Antarctica.
These ultra durable notebooks are actually made from synthetic Yupo paper, water- and tear- proof, and made for adventure, whether you're climbing snow covered mountains, or braving the TTC during rush hour with other coffee clenching commuters. The paper is non-porous, though, so your fountain pen ink will take a bit longer to dry in them. They have a dot grid ruling. We sometimes get asked about the Field Notes Archival Box, for those of you that have a real collection of used memo books (or even new!). This solid wood box is of course the perfect size for your notebooks, and even comes with dividers so you can separate your notebooks by project, or theme, or time.
We carry them on and off in the shop, but have them in stock now. This is just to let you know that if you'd like to order one, the Archival Box is $55. It's not listed online but you can contact us to check stock and also for a custom shipping quote, depending on your location. Of course if you don't need shipping, you can always visit us in the shop and say hello :) Have a great night everyone, and an even better Friday tomorrow!
