A Rainy Saturday - Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts Festival
I am taking a break from the shop today!
Actually, I was also not in last weekend for a bit, because the dog was not feeling so good after eating some Vaseline. That's our boy. But on this rainy and gloomy looking Saturday, I am going to be at the Cabbagetown Arts & Crafts Festival watching my used-to-be-Grade-7s-now-Grade-8s playing the ukulele and singing - it's a fundraiser for the school hot lunch and snack program. I will just be standing near them in a sheltered area while they do their wonderful performing. There will be other groups of students playing drums and singing and a very talented kindergarten teacher/artist helped some of the kids paint some artwork that will be for sale. If you are in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood, please come and say hi! Or, you can say hello to Jon, who is manning the fort solo. If it's busy, try asking him to make you lots of samples, he would love that :)
This photo is from our very early days of the shop, and it's exciting to see how much we've grown! I can hardly believe how much emptier the shelves seem and how much has changed. And because I'm so good at photography, I intentionally placed the plant leaves in the corner of the photo to add an element of interest.

Yes, he’s all better – always sticking his nose into everything, and sometimes it gets the better of him :)

Sorry to hear the pooch was sick – hopefully s/he is all better now and learned not to eat Vaseline (I can’t imagine how gross that was to deal with). Sounds like a wonderful fundraiser and a lot of fun for the kids. thanks for sharing this with us!
