MD Paper Event Calligraphy Workshop - Sunday, July 19 from 8:30-11:00am
As part of our MD Paper event at Wonder Pens, we're pleased to welcome expert calligrapher Mark Lurz for a special italic calligraphy workshop.
During the class, Mark will introduce and review the italic hand, with demonstrations, guided practice, and opportunities for individual feedback throughout the session.
To finish the class, each participant will choose a favourite poem or short passage to letter onto a large roll of MD Paper brought from Japan for this event. Together, these pieces will become a collaborative display celebrating handwriting, the connection between pen and paper, and the value of slowing down to write with intention.
The workshop is suitable for anyone with an interest in calligraphy, whether you're a first-time calligrapher, looking to refresh your skills and continue building on what you already know, or to participate in this collective event, and spend time with other calligraphers in this beautiful craft.
Please bring with you a selection of your favourite song lyrics, poems, or anything else you would like to write out.
Come empty-handed, but leave with your own calligraphy pen.
No preparation is needed, but you are encouraged to come 5-10 minutes early to get settled in.
