YSTUDIO Classic Revolve Portable Fountain Pen - Copper

A beautifully designed pen created by YSTUDIO based out of Taiwan. The Portable fountain pen has an industrial feel from the clean edges of its hexagonal body, to the copper body which will obtain a beautiful patina overtime. It has a snap cap that is quick to deploy, and a ring-top on the cap to attach to wherever you'd like. YSTUDIO packaging is equally exceptional - this pen comes in a wood box which includes 2 short lanyards (brown or black), and a cylinder carrying case made of Paulownia wood. The Schmidt nib is a smooth writer.

Included with the pen is 1 international standard converter (Schmidt).

Weight: 46g

I keep reaching for this pen...

The copper has a beautiful, clean look out of the box, and the patina that develops is the unique feature. It's your own, and how it wears will depend on how you write and how often you use it. Leave it alone for a while, and it looks a bit like an old penny, dark and worn. If you write with it often, the edges and surfaces that your fingers contact most often will shine - once again, it's all about the patina.

As for the writing experience, this made the Lamy nibs feel so scratchy in comparison. This ystudio is smooth, and doesn't need much pressure. I most often use a Lamy blue-black ink and it flows fine without any weird inconsistencies.

The way it twists apart feels premium - then again, my other pens aren't solid copper like this, so the weight is very noticeable, yet pleasant.

Although the cap doesn't post on the end of the pen, the length and weight is still very comfortable and conducive to good writing. I feel like you can write with it for a while, but having only written a few pages at a time I can't really say what it feels like if you're writing many pages daily. I suspect if you have very large hands that you will not enjoy writing with this, but for the average person you shouldn't have any issues.

It's a luxury, but it's a very nice one; whether you go brass or copper is a matter of preference, but you won't regret your choice.

Statement pen

I went to Wonder Pens looking for a metal pen and was recommended this one. I have had it now for a few months and I LOVE this pen. The nib is such a smooth writer, it’s a wet medium. It glides effortlessly. The weight of this pen is perfect, not too heavy so I can writer for longer periods with it.
And the snap cap... I didn’t realize what I was missing with all of these screw caps on my other fountain pens.
I always get a reaction when I pull this pen out and other people are around. It’s a modern pen with a eye-catching design and colour. Well done ystudio.
