Good quality paper
As always I buy my refills from this shop and it’s great service and good quality from Traveler’s Notebook.
I don’t use the Midori or Traveler’s notebook system. I purchased the 014 Passport Dot Grid and the 002 Passport and Regular Dot Grid refills for the Midori Diary (MD) paper inside, and their small footprint on my desk.
I wanted to try both sizes to see if they stayed open rather easily. They stay open with some encouragement, but it is staple-bound after all. I ended up doing what I did with my Lightweight 005 and 013 refills, which is to remove the staples and put in some thread to give the pages more wiggle room to stay open better, but I didn’t remove any sheets like for the refills with the TR paper.
I like the MD paper that is found in the Midori B6 Slim versions of their notebooks, but am not fond of the cream-coloured paper. These refills come with white paper. Woohoo! Also, depending on whether the MD notebooks are graphed or ruled, the ink is either green or grey: a green grid or grey lines on ivory paper with Diamine Claret is a no-go for me.
I was happy to find these refills! I just wish Midori would make notebooks with multiple small signatures, thread- and glue-bound, using their white MD paper, just like they do with their quality ivory paper notebooks that stay open wonderfully!
