Sailor 1911S Fountain Pen - Transparent GT

I bought my Sailor 1911S 14k gold nib pen almost two years ago to use in my line and wash watercolors and am thrilled with its performance and appearance. I love the size when posted fits my hand perfectly I also love that the ends are rounded and not flat
The 14k gold nib feels gentle on my watercolor paper and never scratchy. It also writes beautifully when I’m not drawing with it. I love this pen and made it its own leather case to protect it in my sketch bag.

The more I use this pen, the more I'm liking it.

1. the pen's a bit smaller than what I was used to. It's still usable and with time, getting to feel more familiar. Unposted, it's about 4 mm shorter (117 mm) than a Pelikan M200 if you have any experience with that pen. I don't post my pens. If you do, then size likely won't be an issue (148 mm posted).
2. initially I was surprised how toothy it was. I don't notice it as much now. I'm not sure if some rough edges have smoothed out with use (about a month), if I'm just getting used to the feel or maybe holding the pen a bit differently.
3. but the pen feels like a precision instrument, like a sharp knife (in a good way). I don't think I've ever used a pen where I feel so much control over what it does and how I want to do it. Part of that is the nib and part I think of the balance and weight of the pen.
4. wetness is perfect for me, maybe a 6 or 7 of 10. Gives a crisp, bold line with no sloppiness.

Overall, a great pen.
