Surprised me!

I've wanted to try a.Blackwing pencil for years, but the cost always put me off. I figured it was just a pencil, it couldn't possibly be as special as people made it out to be. And I was right. Because it's better. It feels like it all but glides across the page! The point stays sharp longer than a typical pencil, even when not using a specialized sharpener. From cheap paper to high end, it writes beautifully on every type I've thrown at it so far. The only thing I don't love about Blackwing pencils is the eraser, because it doesn't erase as cleanly or thoroughly as other brands. A little disappointing given the quality of the pencil and established price point for the brand. Overall, Blackwing pencils are absolutely worth trying! Pretty sure I'm going to be a lifelong fan from now on.

I just tried the Blackwing Matte for the first time. I love it. It’s so dark yet still useable for writing (not just drawing). This will be perfect for writing in sheet music and composing. I love the Hi Uni and Uni as well as the bright green and yellow triangular pencils. So hard to pick a favourite, but this Blackwing Matte is very impressive!
