Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen - Matte Black

I've never been a fan of Pilot fountain pens, but I liked the idea of a click and a mostly covered nib (covert for use while at work without having to have a detailed conversation on fountain pens). I opted for a F nib and have to say it's one of the smoothest pens in my collection. I've been very impressed with it and any concerns I was feeling based on the purchase price have vanished. Highly recommend this pen.

I was so happy to get my hands on my first Pilot Vanishing Point. I was definitely not let down, it’s a true fine nib and still writes so smooth and the matte black is my favourite. Shipped and arrived quickly.

I spent a year or 2 thinking about whether or not I need this pen in my collection, and I finally bought it a few months ago with a fine nib. And it's become my daily driver since then! The fine gold nib is fine enough that you could write on almost any paper without feathering and it's still a wet, smooth nib (I've used a few different Pilot Iroshizuku inks so far). The retracting mechanism is very satisfying and robust, and the great thing is that it does not dry if you don't use it for a while. This was something that I was concerned about when choosing the vanishing point, but so far it has started very smoothly every single time, even when sitting on my desk unused for 2 weeks. Overall I love this pen :)

This is my second review but I have been testing this for two months on the airplane and if I could manage to take it on the plane daily with pressurization and various altitudes. Not only sleek and sexy this pen is practical for my airline paperwork in the cabin and have not had one mishap! 10/10 … but then it is a PILOT :). Have to carry an extra vial of ink but I write a lot I’m so obsessed with this fountain pen. Worth every penny!

I decided a Christmas treat was in order for myself and the reviews rave about this pen… they were not wrong! This surpasses my other pens by far! The super smooth writing and practical tip …. I understand why everyone was raving! I am mad I waited so long! You will not be disappointed! 10/10
