Traveler's Notebook Passport Size - Camel Leather

I bought the Traveller's Passport size brown leather notebook last year and a few inserts. It's a great travelling size and I filled it with notes over a 70 day travelling stint. Just the feel of it encouraged me to write more often than usual I think! I also had a Kaweco Special 0.7 mechanical pencil clipped to the cover. All from Wonderpens.

I was very excited to get the travelers company tn in camel but the one I got in the passport size is like a suede texture not a smooth leather like shown in the photo. This is not a negative review on wonder pens but rather a disappointment that the travelers company changed the leather from their smooth firm leather to still a firm leather but a suede like leather which has a fuzzy feel to it. I also got a camel in the standard size not as suede like but its a lot darker than the passport one out of the box. It almost looks brown but a lighter shade of brown. There is too much inconsistency with the camel leather compared to the other colours from the travelers company. I think the camel variations are too wide with what you get. It’s like opening a mystery bag because you aren’t sure which version you will get and there is no way to know as it’s all packaged up.

I thought about getting a Traveler's Notebook for awhile and am glad I finally took the plunge. It looks good, feels good, and even smells good. The passport size fits perfectly in the pocket of my tote, the band keeps it neat, and the various options should satisfy almost any writerly need. Goodbye to notes scribbled on scraps of paper.

Definitely one of my favourite purchases when it comes to notebooks. The leather smells fantastic, is rigid but not stiff (you can roll the cover on itself but it isn't floppy) and the colour is beautiful and rich.

It can also accomodate Field Notes or small Moleskine Cahiers if you don't mind the notebooks sticking out a tiny bit from the top and bottom (about 2mm)... but I'm really loving the insert that was already included.

As soon as I opened the box containing the notebook, I got a nice whiff of new leather smell. The packaging is simple, but elegant.

The passport size is nice and compact. I love the colour and I can't wait for the leather to age.

I am eager to use this notebook more whenever and wherever I can. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who loves smaller, leather notebooks and who enjoys having one you can carry around to jot down anything you find worth recording.
