But NOT for fountain pen use

I purchased a set of these notebooks, and while they beautifully smooth paper to write on, it is impervious to fountain pen ink.
After waiting a couple of minutes it was still wet & after applying blotting paper, it still smudged to the touch & a wet finger could remove virtually all the ink from the page.
I guess my wife's ballpoint will have beautifully smooth paper to write on...
