Lamy Al-Star Fountain Pen - Black

My second Lamy pen in broad tip. I really like how it sits in my hand, but have had issues with the broad tip. It does not always work on the up stroke. I believe it is just my faulty tip as I have cleaned it and installed different inks and have the same issues. However it is still workable and on the whole writes beautiful.

This pen is so nice. The triangular shape where you hold it is perfect for a long run. Some say it's a introductory pen but I would say it's a pen for everyone. Even if you write with a fountain pen for years would not mean you don't like holding an ergonomic shape. I would prefer something more with anti slippery because oil on my fingers sometimes cause a little bit of me having to clean the pen. The pen is a good size and perfectly balanced. The nib is in steel but having others pens with gold nib and I don't feel even a noticeable difference.

The customer service is unbelievable. It's fast, it's reliable, it's customized with a postal card handwritten. This is the type of company in an Amazon era where this is a proof that small company can deliver more than gigantic company.

This is my second Al-Star. This time I chose the black version with a fine nib. Its a great choice and feels like a quality product at a reasonable price. It writes well, is just the right weight and feels comfortable in the hand.
Black is understated and looks really good. A no brainer - buy this pen!
