One of the oldest pen ink companies in the world, J. Herbin is a French ink company dating back to 1670. One of the first companies to establish a diverse set of colours, their rectangular bottles with a pen rest have become classic among fountain pen users. So so lovely

I really love this ink. It's very appropriately named, it really looks as though you are writing with tea. The shading is really something else - it takes a soft, neutral colour and really makes it spectacular. Great flow as is typical with JH inks, nice and lubricating which is great for the stub I've got inked up with it right now. This will be a regular in my rotation.

Surprisingly very good

I never intended to buy this ink but saw someones handwriting who used it and was impressed. I bought a sample to try it myself.
Its good for pen and ink sketching, handwriting is clear and easy to read. At the same time its understated and subtle.
I have now bought the bottle of ink and am very pleased to have found it. Highly recommended.

With a flex pen or medium nib the shading is lovely. It is more of a golden brown, ochre and has a sheen. This ink is beautiful.
