Pansy purple

Sailor Kobe #18 Sannomiya Panse is a bright and cheerful purple. It is slightly redder than J. Herbin Violet Boréal (Les Essentielles), Violette Pensée (standard lineup), and Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki-Shikibu. It is bluer than Diamine Purple Dream and J. Herbin Poussière de Lune.

It dries fairly quickly without losing its vibrancy. I’ve observed a silvery-coppery sheen, coupled with a dark outline where the ink pools in heavily saturated areas, but not during normal writing with a wet Sailor H-B nib. There isn’t much shading.

This is an ink with average flow that coats the nibs well; even my dry Sailor 21 kt H-M played nice with it. Sannomiya Panse is readable in all nib widths, works flawlessly in my driest pen, is well-behaved and cleans fairly easily with water. It’s lovely out of my Sailor rhodium trim H-F nib on white TR 52 gsm blank paper!
