Very interesting ink!

Kyomachi Legend Blue is a beautiful mid-blue, whose vibrancy in heavily saturated areas reminds me of Diamine 150th Blue Velvet. In drier writing pens, the colour of these two inks is very different, with Kyomachi Legend Blue leaning turquoise, to my eye.

With my pen and paper combos, I get different shades of blue depending on. In wetter pens, it is more mid-blue, while in drier pens it is more cyan. It is not a duo chrome ink by any stretch of the imagination. I enjoy the shading very much on this one, in both my Sailor 1911L 21 kt H-MF and H-B. I’ve observed a little bit of red sheen where the ink pools in heavily saturated areas.

Like most Sailor x Kobe inks I’ve tried, this ink worked flawlessly and is readable in all my Sailor 1911 L and S pens, with all nib sizes from H-EF to H-B, even in my 1911S 21kt H-M, which is a dry writer. I’ve experienced no feathering, no skipping, no hard starts, no bleed through, some ghosting on thinner papers. The ink coats the nib well.

There are a lot of beautiful blues out there, with terrific characteristics, yet I’m very attracted to this one, but I can’t quite put my finger on the reason. Kyomachi Legend Blue warrants a full bottle purchase in my book, not just a sample!
