A Four-Season Ink

In choosing fountain inks, I tend to take a utilitarian approach. I bought this ink to colour-code my notes. But after using this ink on paper of various tones and qualities for over a year, it has won me over. The colour is sufficiently saturated yet not too bright, and stable across different paper tones. In addition, it exhibits little feathering (with a Metropolitan M nib) and ghosting, even on run-of-the-mill paper. Last but not least, this ink imparts a vintage flair on text written on cream-coloured paper. This ink shall remain a staple ink for me.

My favourite ink

There are not many inks where I hit the bottom of the bottle but this is the one I always try to keep on hand. It is a beautiful green and I have to have at least one pen filled with this ink at all times.

A must-have

While I might be in the minority of people since I love murky, dead-leaf colours, you should try this ink even if you’re not sure about it. It’s a really unusual colour that just seems to work for every season. The huge variation in colour with the shading is amazing, it goes on wonderfully wet with every pen I’ve tried, and it also dries really quick, even on Tomoe River paper. For journaling or letter-writing, this ink is an absolute pleasure to use, and while it is legible with any nib, break out your broad nibs or stubs to really see the shading!

Just the Best

This colour has been my first and only ink (besides the sample sent). I thought I'd be trying a few more colours by now but this one's become my standard "I definitely wrote this" colour and is just so beautiful. It's also brought me back to the site to order some more pens (second order, yay).

Unusual, wet green.

I bought this as a sample and couldn't help picking up a full sized bottle. I'm a sucker for more unusual ink colours and this one is nothing if not unusual. I don't usually care about things like this, but I love the way the bottle looks too. The darker coloured glass is super satisfying to look at.

Really nice for note taking and journaling.
