What's wrong?

Bought this instead of the Kaweco Sport so I could use a full-size international converter, which I already have. After filling the converter through the nib, I inserted the converter into the barrel. Lo and behold, the barrel ended up hanging halfway on the converter. Next I tried the ink cartridge that came with the pen. Not only did it fail on the Kaweco Student, it couldn't be installed onto my other two pens that take international cartridges! As a last resort, I gave it a go with a Faber Castell ink cartridge, which finally worked (nothing's wrong with the nib). Now I am stuck with being forced to use ink cartridges for double the price of a Kaweco Sport, unless I spend another $12-13 on an international converter sold by Kaweco.
