Lamy Al-Star Fountain Pen - Graphite

An admitted Lamy-oholic. I own several Safari's and I always have at least one inked. The triangular shaped section fits my grip and will fit people with the standard 3 finger grip style. I can't recommend it higher as a first fountain pen. Durable, inexpensive, carry anywhere pen. I'd recommend the converter for use of the hundreds of colour options available in bottled ink.

This is a great fountain pen that writes very smooth with great ink flow. I am very glad I decided to go with the Al-Star metal base, as this pen had become my favourite and the metal and graphite colour is very high grade and looks classy. The metal finish places this pen a good step up from the Safari, and so far I have no desire to upgrade further as this pen is exceeding my expectations in every way. Also 5 stars for the customer service at Wonderpens. Ordered it online after some discussions with the excellent staff via telephone before ordering. Highly recommended.

The Lamy Al-Star pen belies its modest price. The light graphite coloured aluminium finish gives the pen a classy look and in true Lamy style it is ergonomic to hold and work with. Apart from the material it is basically the same as the tried and true Safari, but the superior finish places it at another level. If you only want or need a single pen, this could easily be the one!.

My normal daily carry pen is a Kaweco Sport, however this has found its way into my bag along side it as a worthy companion. Great wet, and reliable pen. I purchased it with a broad nib, though for many people this may be too broad as Lamy seems to run broad to begin with. Love it!
