Diamine 150th Anniversary ink: Regency Blue (40 mL)

Diamine Regency Blue is a red-leaning vibrant blue ink with coppery-reddish sheen. Saturation is high even from Japanese fine nibs and shading is low. The flow is average to high, and constant in all my Sailor 1911 L and S pens, with all nib sizes from H-EF to H-B, even in my 1911S 21kt H-M, which is a dry writer. Out of my gazillion blues, Regency Blue is closest in tone to… uh… none of them. I thought Regency Blue might come close to Tchaikovsky from the Diamine Music collection, but the former is much more vibrant, richer, has different sheen and doesn’t look dusky.

Even though this ink leans red, I don’t consider it a blurple, rather a navy, especially when pitted against Montblanc Royal Blue and Sailor Jentle Ultramarine. Despite the ink being saturated, it rinses out with water easily. I’ve seen no feathering or bleedthrough, just some ghosting on thinner papers.

I enjoy using this ink most in my Sailor 1911L 21 kt H-EF and H-F nibs.
