100% Silicone Grease 1/4 Oz

Silicone grease can be used for eyedropper conversions with some pens including the Kaweco Sport, Platinum Preppy, Noodler's Ahab, among many others. Silicone grease is also helpful for maintaining smooth piston mechanisms in several pens.

A tiny bit is enough

I bought silicone grease to fix—well, try to improve—the piston mechanism of my aquatic bird pen (wink!). It’s an all-plastic piston that has been very hard to operate from the start. The piston doesn’t come apart, as it seems glued to the barrel somehow; trying to pull it out would only break it, I fear. So I applied the grease in the space between the piston nob and the barrel and turned the nob several times. The only thing I achieved was to get grease all over my pen and hands. On the plus side, my hands were smooth!

The silicone grease sealed perfectly the threads of my eyedroppered Preppy though, and without making a mess!

Great use for eyedroppers

Using these for my converted Kaweco Sport and Pilot Petit1 around the threads after I’ve converted both to eye dropper pens.

A little bit goes a long way, so this little container will last a while!

Enough supply for many years.

This isn't much and you can probably get a whole tube for 20~40 bucks or so. However, if used only on fountain pens (and also assuming you own a reasonable number of fountain pens), this should be enough for many years. Far more economical than buying a tube/container and never using it all up in your lifetime.

I've used a bit to fix a leaky faucet once, but I still got enough to last me probably close to a decade I think.
