Dedicated Lamy Pen

When installing it, it shaved off a chunk of my Safari's nib, and one side sits further away and not flush with the nib. They are not going to be separated because I don't think I can get the nib off.

It writes smoothly and pleasantly. The lines that come out look closer to a Lamy medium than a Lamy fine. I was planning on doing writing drills for Chinese characters, but it looks like if I'm using this nib and pen, I'll have to practice in large font.

Game changer

This is a beautifully easy writing nib. I was expecting something similar to a flex nib, but actually it writes almost like a rollerball, in that it can draw lines in any direction and change in angle without catching, going scratchy, or significant line width variation. It loses some of the charm of a fountain pen in that regard, but makes up for it in ease of use. Line variation is pretty minimal, but I was getting beautiful 意連 and 連綿 (connections between lines/words). It is also butter smooth for English cursive as well.

It would be easy for someone to pick this up and use it immediately without any experience with fountain pens. I hesitate to call it an ideal beginner pen, since it doesn't react the same as a standard nib. If someone wanted the concept of a fountain pen without the learning curve, this might be an ideal middle ground.
This is definitely my new favourite nib in the Lamy collection by far. It was a very tight squeeze on my old Lamy Safari (10+ years old) and a bit of the plastic slivered off, so I suspect my old fine nib might be a bit loose in the future. I don't expect to be switching back any time soon, so I don't mind.
