The year of the horse is arriving! And just in time are these rubber stamps featuring this year’s zodiac animal, ready for all of your stationery needs. The year of the horse comes around every 12 years, and I wonder what I will be doing then, and if I will be busting out these stamps again. Or perhaps there will be some other opportunity that calls for a horse. Who knows! I am loath to contemplate that far into the future. Let’s just think about this afternoon.

I have been using them in my journals, in my crafting with the kids, and especially in my snail mail.

We’ve arrived in February. What a ride! 2026 arrived with a bang and has not stopped banging since. I am hanging on by my fingernails, and yet everything seems to only be going faster around me. I cannot keep up with my emails, with the library’s due dates, with the infinite number of children’s socks flung about. Where did all these socks come from? I am the buyer of socks in this family and I cannot fathom how they’ve all entered into our house and laundry stream.

In any case, we continue on, as always. Grateful for it, relishing the moments of calm when the kids are ruckusing themselves somewhere else, when I walk into the empty shop in the early morning, when someone’s math homework is finally finished, her brain and my soul both completely depleted. Ah yes, these golden days as we roll into the year of the horse.
