Superior Labor Pen Cases

I'm not in the shop too much these days, usually only for an hour or two, or sometimes less if there's something else that's going on, like the dog throwing up on the carpet after knocking over a plant and eating dirt.

Because of this, I don't tend to see some of our regulars as often as I used to, and sometimes our conversations tend to run on a bit. These hapless souls, obviously, you know, delighted to see me, sometimes casually venture to ask, "what's going on, anything new coming up?" and they have had to suffer the saga of getting these Superior Labor Cases. By saga, I really just mean that it's taken months and months to get them in. I have been moaning and moaning about them for about as long.

These leather cases are stitched and put together by hand, which is why they've taken so long to come in. They are made in Japan. The label says "Superior Labor ...we take pride in craftsmanship" and it definitely shows. The stitching and finishing on the leather is super precise.

As you can see, I had to break out some of my brown pens for these shots.

The cases come in light brown or dark brown. The leather is a little stiff, but of course being leather, it will soften up over time. I'm personally a real fan of leather products, bags, and wallets, and I love the idea of having something for life that will wear a bit with time. 

The pen slots can hold one large pen, or two medium/smaller pens. There's a notebook slot that fits a Field Notes or small notebook. It's a little tight, but I think the leather will grow softer and stretch out a bit with time.
