My favourite part of this pencil is the text that reads "Made by Elaborate Process" So intriguing.
The pencil has a strong core and strong wood, the pencil feels solid like it's one tool, more like the Uni Star than the 9800.
Comparing to an HB of a Mitsubishi 9800, and a UniStar, the 9000 offers good value. It's not as smooth as the UniStar, and requires a bit more pressure to write with. It feels more solid to the 9800 in writing and with better wood quality, and is smoother with better point retention. The dipped end is also nice. Perfect for the office.
This pencil comes with a thick smooth green lacquer. It feels very nice, but I find it a bit slippery if I'm holding it for too long but that's personal preference.
Great for notes, and for math. After getting the B grade of the pencil, I much rather prefer the HB. It feels like one solid strong stick to write with, really good for precise things like margin notes, or calculations. It also feels great on all paper.
