I'm so thrilled to finally unveil our Letter Writing Club Stationery! Letter Writing Club Toronto It's been a long time in the making, but thanks to the talented and thoughtful folks at Sovereign State, we now boast some beautiful letterhead stationery for our monthly evening meet-ups. Actually, to just have Sovereign State design our stationery was pretty great. This was, I think, a relatively small project for their firm, and so we really appreciate the time and effort they put into it. Joel and his designers were just up the street from our old 906 Dundas West shop, and we'd bumped into them now and again, either browsing for stationery or maybe picking up coffee from Ella's, so we knew they would know exactly the vibe we were going for. Wonder Pens Letter Writing Club Stationery Letter Writing Club Toronto Canada It's stationery that celebrates whimsy and analogue and writing and airmail. Old-style vintage flair for a method of correspondence that is age-old, and yet still so relevant in this era of instant everything. I can't wait for folks to start writing on it and sending it off - we drop off letters at the mailbox after our club, and I love imagining who these people are writing to in Germany or Australia or Japan. We had it printed on some of my favourite stationery, G. Lalo Verge de France, in ivory - it's a textured feel due to the process of making the laid paper, and has a nice weight to it for when recipients open it up. It handles all manner of fountain pen ink beautifully, and there's also that G. Lalo watermark! G. Lalo Verge de France watermark We'll also have blank sheets of matching G. Lalo in case you are writing a longer letter and need a second page, or a third page. As tempting as it would be, unfortunately we're not selling our printed stationery. This is free for the taking for any and all letters written at our club. Rather than having folks take it home to write letters from home, we're hoping it's a bit of the magic that comes from all the scribbles and scrawls that happen while sitting among so many other kindred spirits - you're sending a letter from our Letter Writing Club! We will still have all of our other usual stationery out for you to try out and write letters on as well. Wonder Pens Letter Writing Club Stationery Our Letter Writing Club is meeting again this week. It's the second Thursday of every month, and so we are meeting this Thursday, July 13th, from 7-9 pm. There's no cost, and all supplies are provided, including now this Letter Writing Club stationery. These last few months have brought quite a few surprising delights to my mailbox, and I'm all the happier to have some time to send out my own good wishes into the world, although we'll have Caleb roaming around and the cat lurking in people's bags, so there will be some vigilance required still. I try and remind myself that as much as I would like two hours to simply write, of course I will deeply miss the days when he's gone. In any case, it's a time when screens are asleep and words flow directly onto the paper in front of you. Wax seals and candles and postage and pots of ink and other dreamers. In other news, we did some inventory the other day. You may have noticed our site was down on Monday as we did some fancy counting. It was a terrible day, although I tend to be a bit dramatic when the air conditioner is broken and I'm supposed to be counting thousands of sample vials of ink. Jon obviously left me and Caleb in charge of something important and not just incredibly monotonous and soul-sucking and potentially disastrous since all of the those vials look exactly the same and you feel like you're losing your mind. In any case, it took much longer than expected, and also involved me pulling out my very rusty mental math skills as we collated different sheets of numbers after the staff went home. Eventually I was sent to recuperate on the bed with a bowl of popcorn, the cat and the dog. I suppose this isn't really a good story, but I guess it goes to show that even beautiful things need to be counted every once in a while, and it's always a relief when it's done.

My penmanship is horrible, and I’d like to do something about that – I love the idea of this club – are there any pre-requisites for joining?

None at all! Or perhaps just a love of handwritten correspondence. If you’re looking to improve your handwriting, there are lots of great resources online, including handwriting or cursive writing guides. Good luck, and hope to see you out one evening :)

As an accountant I’m glad you’re doing the count, it is pretty important depending on who you ask lol
At the same time know how frustrating it can be!

Our accountant agrees with you! I’m glad to hear it’s not just a frivolous punishment ;)
It’s a long day, but I’m always glad when it’s done.
