Opus 88 OMAR Fountain Pen - Green

Made in Taiwan, these new Opus 88 fountain pens feature a huge ink
capacity as well as a unique, Japanese style eye-dropper filling
mechanism. The pen has an ink shut off value to prevent ink from leaking
into the cap during travel or changes in air pressure. During longer
writing sessions, leave the shut off valve open so ink can make its way
down into the feed.

An over-sized pen, the OMAR is ergonomically comfortable for longer
writing sessions, and is available in several colours featuring a flaked
cap and translucent barrel that allows you to see your ink level.

A lot of pen for the price. Looks better in real life.

This is a terrific pen with a lot of special qualities to it. The body has a large reservoir (to be filled with an eyedropper, but I'm used to that). The cap is a well-crafted flecked resin which is a great contrast to the somewhat translucent body. This is a contemporary looking, unpretentious and unique-looking pen. I was unsure about the white finial and piston knob but it looks and feels right--almost like the contrasting white elements of a Mini Cooper. The medium-sized nib is a bit scratchier than I'd prefer (hence the 4/5 stars), but the nib has wonderful "feedback" and the larger circumference of the pen feels fits confidently and comfortably in the hand. This is a very stable and effortless to write with for the most heaviest of notetaking sessions. For under $200, this pen has terrific value.
