Inexpensive workhorse

An admitted Lamy-oholic. I own several Safari's and I always have at least one inked. The triangular shaped section fits my grip and will fit people with the standard 3 finger grip style. I can't recommend it higher as a first fountain pen. Durable, inexpensive, carry anywhere pen. I'd recommend the converter for use of the hundreds of colour options available in bottled ink.

Like but not love

I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed by the Safari. I like it's cheerful colour and it looks great, but it's on the dry side and has some drag. I find the shape of a the grip a little annoying and it has a sweet spot that you need to hit or it skips.

It's alright but not great. Considering the additional cost of the converter there are better pens at this price point. I far prefer the TWSBI ECO.

A very nice pen!

I picked up a yellow Lamy because the red models were not available, and yellow was my second choice.

I picked it up with a fine nib because I heard it was smoother than an extra-fine. This pen does not disappoint! It glides across the page without any skipping and the ink dries very quickly. It is easy to fill with a converter and easy to clean, though it doesn't disassemble as much as the more expensive pens for sale at Wonderpens.

For the price, it's a very good beginner model. If you want to get into fountain pens, I would definitely recommend picking up a Lamy Safari with a converter.
