Dark, rich, and concentrated, but red. Just red

Guess I'm an outlier, because unlike some of the earlier reviewers, I don't see this as a reddish brown or brownish red. It's an incredibly vibrant, saturated red, with layers and shading to capture the interest, but for me it's an unadulterated red. I agree with the guy who said be careful or you'll end up looking like a murderer, though.

I've only tried a couple of Diamine inks, but they're both awesome. They tend to write quite wet, though.

Hands Covered

Great ink, I was really looking for this colour. I had tried so many reds. It’s a little on the brown side. I am sorta new to fountain pens, so when I was trying to fill my safari with a sample I got it all over my hands. No big deal, that happens, but this is so pigmented after many washes I could not get it off my hands. If you don’t want to look like you just murdered someone, I’d suggest being really careful with this ink. Also, it takes a bit of time for it to dry so good luck lefty’s.

Beautiful.

It's a beautiful, deep rich red that I personally happen to enjoy. It's a bit darker than my tastes tend to write with, but I do like it. It shades well, with a soft pink undertone. If you've used Red Dragon but it was too bright for you, give Oxblood a shot. If you haven't tried either, I'd order a sample of both to see which you prefer.
Very good ink.

Deep & Rich

I purchased this as a sample to keep me busy over the holidays.

This is a dark brown/red ink. It has a really rich and deep feel to it.

I've used it in several pens and it looks good and is consistent.

It offers some shading in farily wet pens.

Oxblood? Hmm, maybe not..

This ink is a red-brown ink, the colour is very saturated and it doesn't "jump out" per se. It is definitely a pretty colour.

My brother seems to be loving it and this is his all-day ink, although I don't think it is quite "professional" enough for me to use in that setting.

Flows well, Shades here and there and a bit of bleed-through. But the colour covers all these "flaws" if you say.
