Ruriiro is a glittering purplish vivid blue - also called ultramarine or lapis lazuli. Ruri was a precious mineral in the 9th century which was described in the Taketori tale in the early Heian period and was one of the seven treasure stones among Buddhism. With its elegant glittering powder, ruriiro offers the shimmering effect in combination with the deep ultramarine blue. 

This new Kyo No Oto ink has gold glitter in the ink. Please exercise proper fountain pen maintenance and care when using this ink.

Brilliant Metallic Ink - very special

I bought this ink out of curiosity when it shows different shades of color on the website. As a background I for sure prefer medium rather than fine, so I like my handwriting to express my style and penmanship. I am so pleasantly surprised by the "metallic" look of the writing on almost any paper that I wrote on, yes I'm using a medium nib.
I actually look and re-look at my own writings and impressed how it continues to be brilliant reflecting the metallic elements in the ink. I compare that with the metallic paint of my car versus a flat color. I love it. So now when I write anything to people I love or want to impress, I will use this ink.
