Higgins Calligraphy Ink 2.5 oz - Eternal Black

Higgins Eternal is frequently recommended to students who take calligraphy workshops: it is dark, consistent, easy to work with, and reliable. The product description is clear that this ink is not designed for fountain pens, but for dip pens, and for dip pens it works well. There are more expensive inks out there that give finer lines or richer textures, but Higgins is ideal for beginning calligraphers who need a solid ink that performs as advertised and is not temperamental.

I did not buy this ink from this site but I have experience with it. I bought it for use with a fountain pen since it is advertised as one of the few Higgins inks that are "safe for all fountain pens"

It sells itself as a black ink, but once it dries, isn't black at all but instead is a sad and weak grey-ish colour.

I cannot recommend this ink for use in fountain pens.
